Companion and Substitute Caregiver for Disability Support – Strängnäs Municipality

We are currently looking for companions and substitute caregivers for the Disability Support area. A rewarding job where you have the opportunity to contribute to laughter and joy. For us, it is important to find that little extra in the user's quality of life and contribute to a secure and stable day for the user.

Job Responsibilities
As a companion, you support a person with a disability in having an active, social, and meaningful everyday life. You base your work on the interests and activities our customers want to do. This can range from playing board games, practicing sports, going to the theater, having coffee, doctor's visits, or visiting children and/or family.
As a substitute caregiver in the home, your role is to relieve parents and provide quality time to the child/children by playing both indoors and outdoors. This can involve everything from playing football, jumping on a trampoline, socializing, crafting, singing, making music, drawing, or reading a book.
The assignments vary from several meetings per week to one meeting every other week, and you plan your schedule together with the customer. Work shifts can be scheduled on weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are/have:
- Upper secondary education
- Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
- Computer skills for handling medical records systems, implementation plans, and registering your working hours in the personnel system.
It is an advantage if you have experience working with people with autism or have experience from work in psychiatry/LSS activities.
In some cases, there is a requirement for male/female companions/substitutes that we need to take into account.
Your personal qualities are important to us. We see that you are sensitive and attentive in contact with other people. You are flexible and creative with a respectful approach. We consider it important that you always keep the customer's interest and wishes in mind.
