As a personal assistant, it is important that you are a good listener and have the ability to adapt to different situations. You show respect for personal integrity in all parts of the work. You should be comfortable with cooking and preferably enjoy preparing meals. You also need to be a non-smoker.

About me: I am a woman in my 30s with a spinal cord injury who needs support in daily life. For me, it is important to have an assistant who is secure, responsive, and respectful, and who can contribute to a functional and positive everyday life.

Leading Assistant: This position as a personal assistant includes an extended role as a leader (personal coordinator) within the assistance team. This means that, in close consultation with the assistance user (or legal representative), you design the user's personal assistance according to the intentions of the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) regarding self-determination, choice, and personal integrity.

Aside from leading the other assistants as described above, you ensure that the work environment is safe and secure. You are responsible for scheduling, participate in recruiting new assistants, and handle documentation. You have close and continuous cooperation with the team manager at the office, who is your direct supervisor. You receive extensive competence training, support, and coaching to succeed in this key position. This is a compensated assignment.

Working hours: The position is 75% and involves work according to a fixed schedule. The working hours include both day and night shifts. The night shifts include 7 hours of on-call/waiting time. We would like you to be available for both types of shifts and able to work every other weekend.

To be employed, you must present a valid ID, a certificate from the Swedish Police Authority (polisregistret), and any documents proving your right to work in Sweden.

Staffing/On-call: This position includes an extended (and compensated) staffing assignment. This means that during certain weeks, you must be reachable outside of regular working hours to arrange for a substitute or step in yourself to assist when intervention is required. This is Assistans i Balans' way of ensuring that our clients always have a familiar assistant by their side. This assignment is shared among all assistants who work on a regular schedule.
