Do you want to work practically with supervision according to the Environmental Code? We are looking for an Environmental and Public Health Inspector for the Southern Roslagen Environmental and Public Health Office (SRMH) in Täby for a parental leave vacancy with a focus on operational supervision. Here, you will assess and follow up on the impact of operations on human health and the environment, together with experienced colleagues who are happy to share their knowledge.
SRMH is a joint environmental office for several municipalities and is administratively placed within the Municipal Executive Office in Täby Municipality. The basic affiliation is with the Southern Roslagen Environmental and Public Health Board, which is shared by Täby and Vaxholm. The Board also collaborates with Norrtälje, Lidingö, Danderyd, and Vallentuna. We are located in the municipal building in Täby, with easy access to both the Roslag Line and SL buses.
We offer a workplace with a good atmosphere and competent colleagues with broad experience. You will become part of a team of approximately 30 people where we work together to ensure high quality and legal certainty in our work.
About the position
The position involves working with supervision, case processing, information, and advice supported by the Environmental Code. You will carry out inspections, make assessments, follow up on deficiencies, and make decisions. The work is planned based on our annual supervision plans and current needs, with prioritizations made in dialogue with colleagues in the Environmental Code group.
As an inspector with us, you will work broadly within the areas of the Environmental Code, which provides good opportunities for variation and development. You will encounter many different types of operations and situations, and you will use both your analytical skills and your communication competence. The role also includes providing clear and correct information to operators and the public, while maintaining the authority role and ensuring legally sound case processing.
You will become part of a team where we collaborate, share knowledge, and support each other in daily work. Here there is both experience to learn from and room to grow in the role.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who see what needs to be done and take initiative without hesitation. You learn quickly, thrive in an environment where the pace changes, and feel comfortable taking on new tasks as they arise.
You have a university education such as Environmental and Public Health Inspector, Environmental Scientist, or equivalent as assessed by the employer. You have a good understanding of the application of the Environmental Code and an interest in authority work.
To thrive in the role, you need to be a skilled communicator – both orally and in writing – and able to adapt your way of explaining complex issues to different target groups. You listen, analyze, and formulate clearly. You have an easy time getting into new tasks and can work both independently and together with colleagues.
We are looking for you who work systematically and have the ability to drive cases forward in an efficient manner. You can handle several parallel tasks without losing quality in assessments or documentation, and you take responsibility for planning, starting, and completing your cases within a reasonable time.
A Category B driver's license is required.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

About Täby Municipality
Täby is one of Sweden's best-managed municipalities with great choice, high-quality welfare services, an attractive business climate, and a stable economy. The schools in the municipality achieve top results, the preschools offer a safe and stimulating environment, and satisfaction at the municipality's nursing homes is high. The location is attractive with proximity to both Stockholm and Arlanda, while access to forests, sea, and recreational areas provides opportunities for nature experiences and recreation. Täby is developing with new attractive and safe environments and by further developing existing areas – sustainably, with care for cultural heritage and where larger contiguous green areas are preserved. Half of Täby should be green and all of Täby sustainable. Traffic and infrastructure should function in everyday life and be developed for the future.
The Municipal Executive Office houses the central management resources and administrative support for the municipality's areas of operation, such as finance, investigations, HR, and communication. We coordinate and drive overarching development and are responsible for strategies, guidelines, and tools.
