We are now looking for a study advisor for a fixed-term position at the Faculty of Science and Engineering's administration office (TFK).

The Faculty of Science and Engineering's administration office provides overarching operational support for the faculty's education and research. We collaborate closely with departments, programme committees, central university functions, and external partners.

About the job

As a study advisor at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, you will provide support and guidance to both Swedish and international students during their studies. The role involves individual advisory meetings, providing information about programmes and study structures, monitoring study progress, and offering support in questions related to studies and future careers.

The role also includes processing and administering student cases in various educational systems, as well as planning and conducting introductions and receptions for new students. You will work proactively and supportively to create good conditions for students' studies.

You have your own area of responsibility but work in close collaboration with other study advisors, education managers, programme committees, and other functions within the administration office. The work follows an annual cycle with periods of high workload, for example, at the start of terms.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in study and career guidance or a behavioural science degree.
  • Documented good knowledge of conversation and guidance methods or other equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
  • Documented good computer skills and system understanding.
  • Good administrative skills.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Previous experience in study guidance work.

As a person, you are self-reliant, structured, and service-oriented. You have good collaboration skills and thrive in an environment where the work pace is sometimes high.

Besides an interest in guidance, you have a pronounced interest in administration and an understanding of its importance in operations.

You take responsibility for both your own tasks and the group's joint work and development, such as actively participating in meetings, contributing to an open and learning working climate by sharing knowledge and experiences, and being responsive to the organization's common goals.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.

Your workplace

You will be part of a group of study advisors at the faculty administration office and work closely with other functions within TFK. Together, you contribute to the development of operations and to providing students with the best possible support during their studies.
