ResponsibilitiesAt Bergslena Upper Secondary School, we see possibilities. We are now looking for an engaged special needs pedagogue who wants to help shape a secure and stimulating learning environment for our students. Here, you get the chance to make a real difference – every day.
As a special needs pedagogue with us, you work both operationally and strategically. You plan, document, follow up, and evaluate your interventions. Your role is central in our Student Health Team (SHT), where, together with the principal, school counselor, special needs pedagogue, career counselor (SYV), and school nurse, you drive preventive work. As a special needs pedagogue, you share overall responsibility for the special needs pedagogical work in the operations together with other special needs pedagogues at the school. You are part of the special needs pedagogical network in the Upper Secondary and Adult Education Administration.
Your tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting pedagogical assessments, following up on support, and providing feedback to the principal and relevant staff.
- Serving as a qualified conversation partner and sounding board for teachers and teaching assistants.
- Developing and adapting the learning environment, both at the individual and group levels.
- Collaborating with adapted primary schools, guardians, habilitation services, and other external parties.
- Leading pedagogical development: Guiding and coaching work teams in implementing evidence-based methods, such as low-affective interaction and clear pedagogical approaches.
- Communicative accessibility: Ensuring the learning environment is accessible to everyone by implementing and developing the use of digital learning tools.
- Quality assurance of documentation: Ensuring that the creation and evaluation of action plans maintain high legal and pedagogical quality.
- Observations in the learning environment: Identifying barriers and opportunities in the physical, social, and pedagogical environment.
We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with a degree in special needs pedagogy. Previous experience in adapted school forms or work with NPD (neurodevelopmental disorders) is meritorious.
You who apply:
- Have a solution-focused attitude and see the student's strengths.
- Have good collaboration skills and can inspire colleagues to new ways of working.
- Are secure and strong in prioritization: You settle softly into your professional role and have the ability to remain calm and prioritize correctly in a changing and eventful daily life.
- Are well-versed in laws and governing documents: You have a good grasp of the Education Act and the governing documents for the adapted upper secondary school and can translate them into practical action.
Digital Competence and Future Learning:
- We see that you have good digital skills and a curious approach to the possibilities of technology.
- Are curious about how AI, for example, can be used as a compensatory aid to support students' independence and learning.
- Understand the significance of AI in society and want to explore how we can prepare our students for a digitalized future.
- See digital tools as a natural part of creating an individually adapted and stimulating learning environment.
Great importance is placed on personal suitability and the ability to collaborate with managers, colleagues, teachers, teaching assistants, as well as other functions inside and outside the school.
