Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for providing individually tailored involuntary care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Margretelund receives non-compulsory school-age girls and boys with psychosocial issues, criminality, and substance abuse. We operate in Lidköping and near Falköping.

Job Description

Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a Treatment Pedagogue at SiS. As a Treatment Pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified nursing and motivational work and act as a support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge and skills in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the completion of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work, contributing to legal certainty, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining security according to our routines and help ensure that daily life flows smoothly with school attendance, cleaning, cooking, etc. The role may include being a contact person. This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to schedule: day - evening and weekends.

As a summer temporary employee at SiS, you will undergo an adapted introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.

Qualifications

You must have:

• At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
• Category B driver's license
• Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing

The following are also meritorious:

• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care
• Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., correctional officer
• Guard training
• Education in care and nursing
• Experience working with our target group (e.g., youth care, young girls, etc.)

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS value base, to be a place for change. You have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are confident in yourself and have an easy time creating good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and you can handle conflicts in a constructive way.

We want to reward you who help us during the summer period, therefore you who work full-time as a monthly employed summer temporary employee for more than four weeks receive a bonus. Employment

• The position is a full-time temporary position during our vacation periods (June, July, August). We primarily prioritize you who can work both periods, then you who can work one of them. If you only have the possibility to work scattered weeks or between periods, this needs to be communicated early.
• It is desirable and advantageous if you can start working as an hourly employee before the temporary position begins, but it is not a requirement.
