Kungälv Municipality is a place where we create value in people's daily lives together. Our vision shows the direction forward, and our keywords – courage, respect, and co-creation – guide how we work every day. A good workplace culture and support for your personal development are important to us. Your contribution counts!
Description
The operations of the Competence Centre, including study and career guidance, labour market services, adult education, support and social assistance, and integration, collaborate closely to offer people in need of support the help they need to enter employment or education. Within the municipal labour market assignments, we primarily work on behalf of the Social Services and Financial Assistance.
We offer a job that is interesting for you if you want to make a difference for people in vulnerable situations and appreciate developing operations together with colleagues. For us at the Guidance, Introduction and Work (GIW) unit, it is important that the workplace provides energy. We show trust in each other, help out, and support each other in both big and small matters.
This recruitment is part of a planned expansion of the Competence Centre's operations ahead of the introduction of the activity requirement reform in July 2026.
Responsibilities
The GIW (Guidance, Introduction and Work) unit is part of Kungälv Competence Centre. Our mission is to support our participants on their path to work and an independent life. We do this through parallel processes where you, as a coordinator, are the single most important resource. We operate from an approach where we believe that every individual has the potential to reach work or studies.
The role of Labour Market Coordinator at the Competence Centre involves:
- Working together with colleagues and management to ensure that all unit assignments and goals are carried out as efficiently as possible. We work together and support each other during peak workloads in various assignments when the operation requires it.
- As a Labour Market Coordinator, you are expected to accompany participants to meetings with authorities, introduce them to internships, staff our joint group activities, and meet and support employers who open their operations to our participants.
- A strong job focus means we are careful to nurture and develop our employer contacts.
- As the participant's most important link to work, collaboration skills are of utmost importance. Creating conditions for the individual's progression is based on our ability to drive forward and manage multiple processes with other partners around the participant simultaneously.
- The majority of cases come as assignments from Support and Social Assistance. Therefore, you are expected to work closely with social secretaries and provide assessments of your participants' progression.
- An important part of the job is building a trusting relationship with the participant, collaboration partners, and employers to thereby develop their opportunities for employment and studies.
- Guide participants towards and in workplace-based interventions.
Qualifications
We are looking for you with a relevant university degree and/or other education or experience assessed as equivalent by the employer.
You are interested in, and preferably have experience of, working with people on their way to jobs and studies.
Our target group is usually far from the labour market, often having several different needs to achieve self-sufficiency. We also work with people at the beginning of their working lives, such as in recruitment for summer jobs. We work together in teams, but you must also be able to make independent assessments.
Experience of supervision is meritorious, as is competence in addiction and/or mental health issues. In connection with the introduction of the activity requirement in 2026, in line with changes in the Social Services' mandate related to financial assistance, it is particularly important that you can guide participants towards and in workplace-based interventions and provide support to employers.
Great importance will be attached to personal qualities.
The selection process and interviews may begin during the application period.
We warmly welcome your application!
