About the Job

Västerskolan is a secondary school (grades 7–9) with approximately 350 students, located on the outskirts of central Uddevalla. The school has three age-homogeneous teaching teams, where teachers deliver most or all of their instruction within their own grade level. Each team is supported by a special education teacher. We also have a student health team comprising a school counselor, career guidance counselor (SYV), school nurse, special needs educator, and the principal.

The school is led by a principal together with a management group consisting of team leaders. This structure ensures smooth communication between teams and management, as well as good opportunities for influence.

In recent years, the school has actively worked on developing and implementing common lesson structures that promote learning, while clearly defining what it means to take on the student role in lessons. Building relationships between the adults at the school and our students is something we place great emphasis on in all contexts.

Responsibilities

The position involves teaching mathematics, Natural Sciences (No), and Technology. You will also become part of a well-functioning teaching team where, as a mentor, you have primary responsibility for a group of students in your class, while collaborating with colleagues to support all students in the team.

• Is a certified teacher with qualifications in Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Technology.
• Wants to be an active part of the collegium and the teaching team.
• Has clear and relational leadership skills, used thoughtfully to create the best possible conditions for student learning.
• Works to build good relationships with both students and guardians.

Qualifications

• Teacher certification with qualifications in Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Technology.
• Experience teaching in grades 7–9 is an advantage.
