Job Responsibilities

The position primarily consists of teaching within the vocational subjects of the Restaurant and Food Program with a focus on Kitchen and Service in the upper secondary and adult education groups, as well as other common tasks in the teaching role. You will work closely with the industry to provide the student with the best possible conditions for working life.

The assignment includes class teacher responsibilities, which means you participate in student welfare work, maintain contact with parents, and conduct development conferences. As a teacher at Almåsgymnasiet, you create conditions for learning, guide the student towards the goals, and participate in educating the student into a good citizen. You continuously work on assessing goal fulfillment and communicating this to the student. Collaboration with other teachers, both in subject groups and program teams, is a given.

Qualifications

We are primarily looking for you who have teacher education within the vocational subjects of the Restaurant and Food Program. Broad professional experience in cooking at a high professional level within relevant operations is a basic requirement for employment.

We are looking for solid theoretical and practical professional knowledge, with a well-developed sense of finesse and quality, where you have the ability to elevate cooking to a higher level and simultaneously convey this pedagogically to students.

Knowledge in Entrepreneurship, food and drink combinations, as well as confectionery and bakery, is meritorious.

The role as a teacher requires clear leadership where you engage and challenge your students, are creative, and have a good approach. You create and maintain positive relationships, are structured, clear, and attentive to students' different conditions.

You adapt easily to changed circumstances, identify areas for development, and contribute yourself to the solution through ideas, initiatives, and flexibility. You express a positive attitude and act in accordance with decisions made for the best of the entire operation.

You are active and participate in the work of developing school operations together with teaching colleagues, school management, and other staff.

You are well acquainted with digital technology and use it as a natural tool in your work.
