About the Workplace
Vadstena is an attractive municipality located on the beautiful Östergötland plain, overlooking Lake Vättern. Here you will find a unique historical environment with roots in the Middle Ages. Youth in Vadstena (Ung i Vadstena) is a youth-driven activity where the goal is for young people themselves to influence content and activities; everyone is welcome. We work with community building and collaborate to strengthen the development and well-being of young people. The fixed location is the Leisure Centre, a meeting point for children and young people. We are open to young people in middle school, high school, and above. The Leisure Centre is a meeting place that aims to inspire children and young people to try new activities to have a meaningful leisure time. Youth in Vadstena is also present in schools and other contexts where the target group is found. We are an HBTQI-certified activity.
Job Responsibilities
We are looking for a Leisure Leader who wants to drive the activity forward and, together with our visitors, create conditions for a meaningful leisure time. Your task as a Leisure Leader is to inspire, encourage, and support young people's desire and will to make their leisure time something valuable, fun, and developmental. In this role, it may also become relevant in the future to coordinate the municipality's cultural promotion work and creative initiatives for children and young people.
In collaboration with other employees in the team, you are responsible for staffing, planning, and implementing activities for the activity and the target group. You will have many varied tasks, including various household chores. You will also have close collaboration with other activities, organizations, schools, social services, and associations.
The position is 100% and includes afternoon, evening, and occasional weekend work.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a Leisure Leader education, Social Pedagogy degree, Leisure Pedagogy degree, or other education equivalent to the position. You have experience working with children and/or young people, preferably experience working with youth councils or similar, and creating participation among young people. You have experience in crime prevention work and knowledge of children's and young people's rights – especially the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and safety work.
As a person, we are looking for you who are confident in yourself and who take responsibility for your tasks and drive them forward. You have organizational skills, can plan, follow up, and document activities and projects. You have empathy and social competence, understanding and respecting different backgrounds, needs, and feelings of children and young people. You have cultural and creative competence and can inspire play, culture, leisure experiences, and social engagement. You also have good pedagogical skills and can enthuse and inspire young people. Working with people is a given for you. You relate to others in a listening and flexible way. Since the work involves many different types of tasks, it is required that you as a person are flexible, positive, and proactive.
Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
