The Logistics Unit at Region Västmanland is establishing a new warehouse to ensure access to healthcare materials.

As a Logistician or Team Leader, you will play a central role in the establishment of Region Västmanland's new warehouse. The position involves being part of the team from the start and contributing to the creation of a modern, efficient, and sustainable warehousing operation that ensures access to vital healthcare products.

In this role, you will work both operationally and with a focus on development. You will participate in the setup of the warehouse, contribute to the implementation of automation solutions and modern warehousing technology, and assist in the procurement and implementation of warehouse management systems. The work also includes handling pick orders, developing warehouse flows and processes, as well as planning and monitoring daily operations. Since this is a new position, there are significant opportunities to influence working methods, routines, and the structure of the business moving forward.

About the Workplace

The primary task of the Logistics Unit is to supply healthcare with the daily need for consumables and other products required for medical care. We handle and manage approximately 140 storages at hospitals and health centers throughout Region Västmanland. Our operations are conducted at Västmanland Hospital in Västerås, Köping, Sala, Fagersta, and at associated health centers. The unit is now facing an important development phase where a new warehouse is to be built to meet future warehousing requirements.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have completed upper secondary education and have at least five years of experience working in warehousing. You have very good knowledge of Swedish and good knowledge of English, both spoken and written. You are familiar with working in the Office package, have good skills in Excel, and hold a B driving license.

It is meritorious if you have experience in process development and optimization of logistical flows, team leadership responsibilities, work with automation solutions in warehouse management, or experience in working with or implementing warehouse management systems. Having a forklift license is also considered meritorious.

As a person, you are self-motivated and take responsibility for your tasks. You work in a structured manner, drive processes forward, and have the ability to take initiative and turn ideas into results. Since the operation is under construction, you need to be flexible and thrive in change. You have good collaboration skills and communicate clearly with both colleagues and partners. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Employment Terms

The position is permanent, full-time, located in Västerås. Start date: according to agreement.
