About the role

As a Designer at Västanfors Steel Structures, your primary responsibility will be to produce working drawings and specifications for the manufacturing and assembly of steel structures.

You will work in Tekla Structures, a software where you build a model in a 3D environment that generates facades, plans, sections, and manufacturing drawings. As a basis, you will have structural calculations made by a Structural Engineer. You will be responsible for documented control of technical descriptions, building regulations, etc. Throughout the entire sales/construction process, you will support sales staff, participate in design meetings, handle procurement, and assist in problem-solving in consultation with customers, sales teams, and consultants to ensure a high-quality final product that meets customer expectations.

The work as a designer is varied, responsible, and independent. The team has a broad competence base, good team spirit, and a willingness to collaborate. The office is characterized by an open culture where knowledge is shared, collaboration is encouraged, and we help each other in daily tasks.

The position is a permanent employment with an start date according to agreement, directly with our client Västanfors Steel Structures.

About you

We are looking for someone who is driven, quick to learn, and results-oriented. To get started in the role as soon as possible, we see that you have a technical background or education – preferably in construction. Furthermore, you have experience from drawing, creating, and using digital environments. Previous experience with Tekla Structures is a merit.

Through internal training, we want you to become confident in the independent work as a Designer – both in producing drawings and in customer contacts.

Västanfors Steel Structures is the company in the traditional Bergslagen region that can do a little more. The whole picture is most important to us; we perform all steps from design to the last screw. With over 70 years of experience in steel structures, we know what is required. Since its founding in 1953, Västanfors Steel Structures has erected over 7,000 steel halls, ranging from small warehouses to large sports arenas and aircraft hangars. Our buildings are located throughout the country, from Haparanda in the north to Malmö in the south.

Pre-assembled buildings in our own management, the safe and quality alternative, is our philosophy. The buildings are drawn by our designers at the office in Fagersta using the latest 3D technology. The steel frames are then welded together, followed by rust protection and painting processing in Västanfors' own workshop across the yard. Thereafter, our skilled assemblers erect the building on site.
