About the role

Professionals Nord, in collaboration with our client, is looking for several Mechanical Design Engineers for their operations in Västerås. The company is a global player in advanced technology and automation and is in an expansion phase with a strong focus on future technology and AI-driven solutions.

The department is responsible for the development of complex mechanical constructions where teams work on both new development and improvement of existing products. Here, mechanical systems, integration of motors and gears, as well as solutions for moving cable systems and other technically advanced components are developed.

In the role, you work in development projects focusing on mechanical design in SolidWorks. The projects vary in scope and complexity, and you become part of a team where collaboration, technical depth, and personal drive are highly valued.

Responsibilities

In the role of Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:

• Work with mechanical design and product development in SolidWorks
• Participate in development projects related to both new and existing products
• Develop and optimize solutions for moving mechanical constructions
• Work with the integration of components such as gears, motors, and cable systems
• Work in SAP PLM systems for documentation and management of designs
• Collaborate closely with other designers, calculation engineers, and cross-functional teams
• Participate in problem-solving and improvement work related to technical challenges

We are looking for you who

• Have several years of experience in mechanical design
• Have very good knowledge of SolidWorks
• Have experience in designing moving mechanical details
• Speak and write fluently in Swedish and English
• Are self-motivated and thrive in collaboration with others

It is an advantage if you have

• Experience with SAP or other PLM systems
• Experience from development-intensive operations or R&D environments
• Knowledge in areas such as gears, casting, and machining
• Experience working in complex development projects
