Vättleskolan is located in northeastern Gothenburg, near the beautiful nature area of Vättlefjäll. At Vättleskolan (grades 4–9), we currently have approximately 270 students, including 30 in special needs education. We are a team of about 50 staff members who meet our students every day.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a certified teacher with qualifications to teach mathematics and technology. As a teacher with us, you work to teach and challenge students to reach their full potential and develop their knowledge through your instruction. Your task is to design and adapt teaching to meet the specific needs of students, as well as to guide teaching assistants in their support efforts.

You will be part of a work team where you co-plan, collaborate, and assess teaching. At our school, you are a driving force in the development of the operations, which in the long run gives students better prerequisites. We work collegially to constantly develop teaching and assessment competence.

You will be part of a work team within special needs education for grades 7–9, together with educators and teaching assistants. Together, you work to ensure that our students reach their full potential, both in terms of knowledge acquisition and social development.

You will teach mathematics and technology in grades 7–9 special needs education. The position is a fixed-term appointment for the school year 2026/2027.

Qualifications

We are looking for a certified teacher with qualifications in mathematics and technology. You have very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Experience with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) is desirable. You base your work on science and proven experience and are well acquainted with the steering documents. Experience working in special needs education and in a multicultural environment is desirable.

As a person, you have good cooperation skills and prefer teamwork. You have a positive and solution-focused approach and the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement, and are clear in your communication. You work based on the different needs of students and have good knowledge of various disabilities. You see students' possibilities rather than obstacles, are flexible, and can think outside the box to find solutions. You see the school as an important compensatory part in the students' lives.
