At Alexandraskolan, we believe in a holistic perspective where health and movement are the cornerstones of good learning. We are now looking for you who are a certified teacher in physical education and health, and who want to take total responsibility for our PE subject on Mondays. With us, you become a key person who spreads energy and creates inclusive PE lessons for our students in grades F–6.

Your assignment with us

The position is 20% and the working hours are entirely scheduled on Mondays. You plan, conduct, and evaluate the teaching in physical education and health for all classes in the school (F–6) based on the Swedish National Agency for Education's steering documents.

In the role, you will:

• Create varied and enjoyable teaching that motivates all students, regardless of prior knowledge, to participate and develop.
• Work independently in driving the subject forward, while maintaining close collaboration and check-ins with class teachers and school management.
• See and lift every individual in the small group, and adapt activities so that everyone feels safe and included.
• Actively use the local environment and the sports hall to create frameworks for high-quality and safe teaching.

Who are you?

We are looking for a secure, positive, and structured educator who has the ability to quickly establish good relationships with the children. Since you lead the subject on your own during your workday, it is important that you are proactive, take initiative, and are comfortable with a large independent responsibility.

• Requirements: Teacher certification with eligibility to teach physical education and health for the earlier years of primary school (F–6).
• Attributes: You have a clear and warm leadership style in the gym, spread positive energy, and have good communication skills in contact with colleagues and guardians.
• Merits: Experience with or interest in Montessori pedagogy is a big plus, as it permeates our daily operations. Previous experience as a PE teacher is required, but your personal suitability and your ability to create safety in the group also weigh heavily.

Montessoriskolan Alexandra is an independent and personal primary school in Gothenburg with approximately 60 students in grades F–6 and an associated after-school center. We are run by a non-profit foundation – here every resource goes entirely to the students' best interests and the community on the schoolyard.
