We are looking for two construction managers within BAS road and utility matters for Trafikverket (Swedish Transport Administration).

This is a consultancy assignment where one resource will be stationed in Mora and one in Borlänge.

The scope of the position will vary during the assignment and is estimated to amount to approximately 50–70% of a full-time position.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

The role of construction manager within BAS road and utility matters involves working with construction management, follow-up, and coordination within road maintenance and utility matters. The tasks include both administrative and practical efforts before, during, and after the execution of contracts, with responsibility for planning, controls, follow-up, and contact with contractors, project managers, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Follow up and ensure that utility installations are carried out according to permits and current requirements through site visits, inspections, and control of signage and closures according to TRVK Apv TDOK 2018/0371.
• Submit opinions on utility matters and assist project managers and contractors with technical competence in road technical issues.
• Perform delivery and construction site follow-up of BAS road contracts and handle deviations, samples, road inspections, and work briefings.
• Prepare technical documents, design minor additional jobs, and prepare request for proposal documents.
• Participate in and lead parts of kick-off meetings, construction meetings, and other meetings, and take minutes at meetings and inspections.
• Handle customer matters independently, prepare action proposals, and coordinate with other technical branches and adjacent contracts.
• Perform APU (Construction Site Management) and check requirements for TA (Traffic Arrangements) and signage.
• Inventorize, plan, and prioritize measures within road equipment, side areas, drainage, and gravel roads, and ensure that the facility system is kept updated.
• Represent Trafikverket Underhåll (Maintenance) in investment projects, participate in dialogue and handovers, and drive guarantee issues and AKV issues (Facility Requirements Road).

Requirements (OBS, mandatory)

• Worked as a construction manager or equivalent position in at least one (1) assignment regarding a larger road maintenance contract. The assignment must have included, planned preventive road maintenance, emergency road maintenance, and winter road maintenance with a contract cost of at least 15 million SEK/year. The assignment(s) must have been executed within the last ten (10) year period. The construction manager or similar position must have worked with the requested scope at least 40% of full-time per year over a period of three (3) years.
• Experience in theory and practice for at least three (3) years of the last ten (10) years regarding methods and equipment for general road maintenance and drainage works, as well as what are allowed stockpiles and landfills including intermediate storage according to the Environmental Code and regulations and other rules and prescriptions including permits.
• Have good theoretical and practical knowledge and experience regarding requirements for the installation of utilities in the road area.
• Experience and routine of having performed computer work more or less every day or every week during the last five (5) years, and thus have experience working in Microsoft Office with the programs Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to express oneself well in the Swedish language, both orally and in writing.
• Hold a valid B driving license.
