Occupational Therapist for Palliative Care and ASIH, Kristianstad

Make a difference. Every day.

Is a focus on the patient and an empathetic approach second nature to you? Do you want to make a difference while being given the opportunity to develop both in your professional role and as a person? Then you are warmly welcome to apply for the position of Occupational Therapist with us!

The Unit for Palliative Care and Advanced Home Healthcare (ASIH) within Region Skåne has the overarching goal of offering equal care to all inhabitants of Skåne regardless of diagnosis, age, and place of residence. In Kristianstad, the unit has a specific assignment to provide palliative specialist care via home visits around the clock. The unit is divided into two parts that work closely together; the palliative care ward and advanced home healthcare. At our palliative care ward in Kristianstad, we have eleven care beds, and within the municipalities of Kristianstad, Bromölla, and Östra Göinge, we have approximately 30 care beds in the home. We collaborate with municipal care and social services to offer holistic care together.

The majority of our patients are cared for in their homes. Patients come to our palliative care ward for shorter or longer stays, depending on the reason for admission. We also have a palliative consultation team that visits referred patients in hospitals and home environments, acting as support to other healthcare providers. For the past year, we have also launched a palliative specialist clinic (PM) during daytime hours. This, together with our consultative support, will form a large part of our future assignment where we actively work to meet the healthcare needs of the future. This means we will meet more patients at an earlier stage, and one step in this is "Basonkologin," a region-wide collaboration where care is brought closer to the patients. Patients who have undergone cancer treatment, for example, are offered symptom relief and certain treatments at home.

As an employee at ASIH and the palliative care ward, you will work in a creative organization alongside competent colleagues, where you are a vital part of the team. Short decision-making paths give you great opportunities to influence your work. We have our own duty line together with ASIH in Hässleholm, and the team's physicians are available around the clock.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist with eligibility to work within Swedish healthcare.
