About the Workplace

The Adapted Primary School in Lerum consists of three units: Adapted Primary School Knappekullaskolan (grades 1-5), Adapted Primary School Centralskolan (grades 1-5), and Adapted Primary School Rydsbergsskolan (grades 6-9). Each school unit is well integrated into its respective school, and there is a conscious effort to ensure that the adapted primary school is visible and involved in the development processes occurring at each school. The Adapted Primary School in Lerum has a well-developed systematic quality work based on scientific evidence, where the development of teaching takes place in practice communities with an action research approach. Our prioritized goals for the units are accessible education and a scientific approach.

We are facing an exciting project where a completely new F-9 school is currently being built, with an expected move-in in the autumn of 2027. Once the school is completed, the adapted primary school in Lerum for grades 1-9 will be consolidated in one single location.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a special education teacher for the Adapted Primary School in Lerum with a teaching license and eligibility to teach in adapted primary schools. You should be comfortable working in a team with other teachers, resource pedagogues, student assistants, and the student health team. You should also be driven by a desire to develop teaching for students in need of alternative and augmentative communication methods. You will serve as a mentor for a class with students in lower and middle school. Your team surrounding the students includes a resource pedagogue, a leisure center teacher, and student assistants. You will also collaborate closely with other groups in the adapted primary school and the regular primary school.

To thrive in the role of a teacher with us, we are looking for someone who is confident in their professional role and possesses good structure in their daily work. You have a good ability to plan and organize your teaching effectively. At the same time, you are flexible and have a positive attitude towards adapting when conditions change or new needs arise within the student group.

Qualifications

You must be a licensed teacher with eligibility to teach in adapted primary schools. If you are not yet eligible as described above but wish to work as a teacher in adapted primary school, you may also apply, but you must then be a licensed teacher and willing to complete the special education program for intellectual disability. To secure a permanent position as a special education teacher, the education must be completed and approved.
