We are looking for you who are interested in working at a school where student influence, democratic working methods, and aesthetic learning processes are in focus. You should be linguistically aware and work to develop language skills in all subjects. You should want to be part of the whole that Freinetskolan Kastanjen represents, be interested in school development, and participate in collegial development work. You should wish to use Freinet pedagogy as the foundation for your teaching.

You are expected to be a certified teacher, qualified to teach physical education and health in grades 6–9, and home economics. You are welcome to apply with other subject combinations, provided one of these subjects is included.

A part of the position involves being a mentor and homeroom teacher for a middle school class.

Freinetskolan Kastanjen is an ideologically driven, non-profit private school located in Slagsta, northern Botkyrka. The school is run by a staff cooperative, and we work based on the ideas of the French educator Celestin Freinet regarding how learning takes place. We have chosen to prioritize high staff density and small student groups. This facilitates thematic and project-based work, which are some of the foundations of Freinet pedagogy. We work with mixed-age groups in grades 1–6. Occasionally, we also mix the older children. This creates a secure school environment where the older students can serve as role models for the younger ones.

The position is a temporary assignment for one academic year, with the possibility of extension.

Start date: August 2026.
