The Student Health Service in Borås Municipality is looking for two engaged and competent special needs educators, as two of our current special needs educators are moving on to new challenges. In the role of special needs educator, you will work closely with school leadership, teachers, students, and other staff to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment by supporting, preventing, and promoting learning for all students.

As a special needs educator within the Primary School Administration in Borås Municipality, you belong to the central Student Health Service. You are part of both a cross-professional team and a professional group. The professional group consists of 42 special needs educators employed by the professional manager at the Student Health Service. As support for your professional practice, you will participate in professional networks, geographical networks, group supervision, and also have a mentor during your first year as a special needs educator in Borås Municipality.

Your main workplace will be at:

• Fristadskolan (Grades 7-9)
• Asklandaskolan (Pre-School to Grade 6) in combination with Kristinebergskolan (Pre-School to Grade 6)

You work closely with the school's teachers through observations, supervision, and consultations, and occasionally participate in conversations with students and guardians. As a special needs educator, you conduct pedagogical investigations, propose interventions, and create adequate documents as working tools for students' learning and development, while also stimulating the development of working methods and approaches.

The special needs educator's mission is primarily to work in a promoting and preventive manner to create good conditions for students' learning and development. The special needs educator works at the organizational, school, group, and individual levels.

The role involves both independently planning, implementing, and evaluating, as well as working together with other professions in the Student Health Service team and close to your principal. Together, you analyze the school's results and identify areas for development. You can independently plan and organize your work in a systematic and qualitative manner. In your work, you are careful with documentation and follow-up, as well as continuous evaluation of both interventions and your own work.

You are trained as a special needs educator and are a certified primary school teacher with knowledge and work experience in teaching in primary school, and you are well familiar with the curriculum and other regulatory documents. Your approach is inclusive, salutogenic, and relational in your working methods.

As a person, you are engaged, creative, responsive, and goal-oriented, with an easy ability to collaborate and build good relationships. You enjoy being able to plan and prioritize your work yourself. You drive development work based on the analysis of previous results and follow current research in your field. It is important that you have good ability to express yourself qualitatively in speech and writing.

A valid driver's license is required.
