Group AML Officer — Cherry with Friends AB

We are a group with operations in both online and land-based gaming in Sweden and internationally. In anticipation of the most significant regulatory shift in anti-money laundering in two decades, we are now establishing a group-wide function for financial crime and are looking for a senior AML specialist to lead this work.

About the role

This is a newly created position at the group level. You will be the first person with full responsibility for AML governance at the group level – placed within our Legal and Compliance function, with the mandate to coordinate work between our existing MLROs in the various businesses and drive the group's preparedness for the EU's new AML package (AMLR, AMLD6, AMLA) as well as the Swedish Gambling Authority's developed requirements.

The role is senior, broad, and significant. You will not be maintaining an existing framework; you will be shaping the one we will work under for the coming decade. The work will take you to our offices and facilities around Sweden as well as to our international operations, so some business travel is included.

What you will be responsible for

• Group-wide AML strategy, framework, and policies
• Implementation of the new requirements regarding risk assessment for land-based gaming operations coming into effect in September 2026, including operational procedures and training for all relevant staff
• The group's preparedness for the EU's AML package from July 2027
• Coordination between MLROs and external partners to ensure consistent standards within the group
• Contact with the Swedish Gambling Authority, the Financial Police, and other relevant authorities on AML matters at the group level
• Risk assessment, monitoring of transaction monitoring, and SAR handling at the group level
• AML input in license applications, including ongoing market expansion projects

We are looking for someone who has

• Senior experience in AML/financial crime within gaming, fintech, banking, or another regulated industry with comparable complexity
• Extensive knowledge of the Swedish AML regulatory framework (the Money Laundering Act, the Swedish Gambling Authority's guidance) and the EU's AML framework, including the upcoming AMLR/AMLD6/AMLA package
• Proven ability to work at a group level across multiple jurisdictions and business areas
• Experience building functions from scratch, not just managing established structures
• Strong communication skills in both Swedish and English, with the ability to represent the group in contact with authorities, auditors, and management
• Willingness to travel for work within Sweden and to our international operations
• Relevant qualifications (CAMS, ICA, legal or financial background) are meritorious but not a requirement if the experience is there

Practical details

• Location: Gothenburg with the possibility of working from home to some extent
• Travel: Some business travel within Sweden (offices and facilities) as well as to international operations
• Employment type: Permanent, full-time
• Start date: As soon as possible – with the goal of being fully operational as soon as possible given the regulatory deadline in September 2026
