Värmdö is the meeting place of the archipelago, offering a unique combination of nature's quiet beauty and a more urban lifestyle. Our mission is not just one but many: schools, properties, social services, harbors, healthcare, libraries, elderly care, and many more. We strive to ensure that all residents of Värmdö can live a rich and free life. We want to be the ones that make the dream of a vibrant, secure environment for home, family, and business possible.

To succeed fully, we need diverse competencies and must work together for a common and trust-based work culture, built on brave, responsible employees who understand the needs and wishes of the inhabitants.

Description of Unit/Department

The Unit for Support and Interventions belongs to the Department of Individual and Family Care. Within the unit, you will find among others Mini Maria, the Youth Clinic, the field operation Polarna, Parent Support Hamnen, the School Social Team, and the SSPF/SIG operations.

We are now looking for a coordinator for a new combined position responsible for both SIG and SSPF. This function combines two previous assignments into a common role to strengthen collaboration and create a more cohesive support system for children, young people, and their families.

The position targets children and young people aged 10–20 who are at risk of crime, substance abuse, or other social issues. The work includes both early coordinated interventions within SSPF and more individualized support through Social Intervention Groups (SIG).

SSPF is a collaboration model between schools, social services, police, and leisure activities, aimed at early identification of children and young people showing risk behaviors and working to break negative development patterns. SIG is a collaborative intervention for young people who risk developing or have already developed a criminal lifestyle, where multiple actors work together to create long-term change.

The operation consists of two SSPF/SIG coordinators who, together with group leaders, work closely in the daily work regarding young people, families, and collaboration partners.

Your Role

We are looking for you who want to work both preventively and coordinatively with children and young people at risk. The role of SSPF/SIG coordinator involves varied and independent work where you, together with colleagues and collaboration partners, work to strengthen protective factors and counteract crime, substance abuse, and other social problems.

In this role, you work both strategically and operationally to coordinate interventions for young people and their families. You drive collaboration between different professions and have close cooperation with social services, police, schools, leisure activities, and other important actors in the young person's network.

You will be part of an operation where development work, collaboration, and relationship building are central parts. To thrive in this role, you need to be structured, flexible, and have a good ability to build trusting relationships with both young people, guardians, and collaboration partners.

Working hours are primarily during the day, but some evening work may occur based on the operation's needs.

In the role of SSPF/SIG coordinator, you will:

  • Coordinate and organize interventions within SIG and SSPF
  • Plan, lead, and follow up on collaboration and network meetings
  • Establish and follow up on individual plans together with the young person, guardian, and collaboration partners
  • Motivate and support young people and families in change work
  • Collaborate closely with schools, police, social services, leisure activities, and other relevant actors
  • Contribute to the development of working methods and collaboration between operations
  • Document and follow up on interventions according to the operation's routines

The role involves great flexibility and close cooperation both internally and externally. You are expected to meet young people and families based on their needs and create good conditions for participation and change.

Your Experience

Social work degree or other relevant higher education.

At least 2 years of experience working within social services with the target group of children and young people at risk.

Experience of collaboration between schools, social services, and police.

Experience of interventions to counteract norm-breaking behavior and reoffending.

Meritorious if you have:

Experience from social services' authority practice regarding children and young people at risk.

Experience of treatment work with young people at risk.

Knowledge of methods such as FFT, SAVRY/ESTER, Ett nytt vägval, RePulse, etc.

Your Personal Qualities

Personal Maturity – you have a high degree of personal maturity and are secure in your professional role.

Initiative – you have the ability to take own initiatives and drive the work forward in an independent and responsible manner.

Collaboration Skills – you have very good collaboration skills and thrive in close cooperation with other actors. You are relationship-building and have an easy time building trust in contact with young people, guardians, and collaboration partners.

Structured – you are structured, plan and organize your work effectively, and have the ability to handle several parallel processes simultaneously. You create clarity in complex contexts and contribute to maintaining good quality and progress in the work.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. For this position, presenting a valid extract from the police criminal record is a prerequisite for employment.

The Employment

The employment is a permanent position and is full-time. We welcome your application by June 7, 2026. Selection and interviews will take place continuously during the application period, so please submit your application as soon as possible.
