What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an engaged and experienced support assistant for one of our group homes in Linköping. The position initially starts as a six-month probationary employment, with the goal of offering a permanent position at a later stage.

The working time is estimated at approximately 80%. You must have education as a nursing assistant (undersköterska) or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Experience working with our target group is a requirement. This presupposes knowledge and/or experience in methods such as clarifying pedagogy, low-affective interaction, managing aggressive behavior, motivational interviewing, and/or sign language support.

About the Role

You will work closely with the residents and, together with your colleagues, carry out support measures and planned activities based on the needs and life situations of our residents. This includes, among other things:

• Supporting and motivating residents in their daily lives. This may include help with cleaning, laundry, cooking, and personal hygiene.
• Booking and accompanying residents to appointments such as healthcare, rehabilitation, and dental care.
• Performing tasks delegated by licensed personnel, such as administering medication.
• Assisting with financial management and maintaining good contact with guardians or administrators if applicable.
• Providing support in social contacts with relatives and friends.
• Supporting and motivating residents to have an active and meaningful leisure time.

Your work will be based on the individual needs of the residents and aims to:

• Promote independence and participation.
• Ensure that measures are carried out with respect for the resident's integrity and self-determination.

As part of our team, you will contribute to development work by:

• Working according to established goals, methods, and quality requirements. Following up, evaluating, and potentially revising different working methods and approaches together with the unit's support pedagogue, other staff, and the operations manager.
• Holding one or more representative roles, such as technical representative, environmental representative, or hygiene representative.
• Collaborating with external actors, such as LSS case workers at the municipality, responsible nursing assistants, rehabilitation staff, etc.

We operate 24/7 throughout the year, which means working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, and weekends. Sleeping on-call duties are included in the position.
