to apply for the job
My name is Simon, I am nearly 36 years old, and I live in Orminge. I use a wheelchair and live an active life with travel, exercise, and community engagement.
I am now looking for a personal supervisor for my assistance, who will also work as a personal assistant. The position is for at least 80% on a rolling 4-week schedule. The supervisory role is shared, and shared staffing responsibility is included, which means the position may reach 100% periodically. The schedule includes overnight shifts, long shifts, day shifts, as well as waiting time/night on-call duties.
About the role
You will help me in my daily life and at home, as well as during activities and travels. The work also includes supporting my engagement with the association JAG in Stockholm County, where I sometimes serve as a spokesperson. In these contexts, a representative is always present, but you will be involved in the practical aspects.
I use a wheelchair and need help with exercise and transfers. There are ceiling lifts in my home, but outside the home, transfers are done manually.
Who I am looking for
You are kind, quick-thinking, and have positive energy. You are solution-oriented, generally knowledgeable, and comfortable with household matters. You are a non-smoker and in good physical shape, as the job requires both strength and endurance.
I do not speak but communicate extensively. You need to speak flawless Swedish and have a good ability to interpret and convey what I express. I use sign language and a communication app on my iPad, so you need experience using an iPad. Your imagination is welcome to be greater than mine.
I travel a couple of times a year, usually for up to a week at a time. You need to be able to join me on at least one trip per year. In winter, I go on ski trips (I use a ski cart), and in summer, there may be trips to places like Skåne or Gotland. Occasionally, there are also international trips.
Qualifications
- Experience with low-affective handling
- Experience with personal assistance or supervisory responsibilities
