Do you want to use your academic knowledge, work experience, and strong interest in societal issues by working within the framework of the state inquiry system, the Official Reports of the Swedish Government (SOU), or alternatively the ministry's internal inquiries, so-called letter inquiries? The Unit for Social Services and Disability Policy has a need for several inquiry secretaries within several of the unit's areas of responsibility, e.g., within social child and youth care, financial assistance, elderly care, and disability policy. The unit works with social service issues within individual and family care as well as care for the elderly and persons with disabilities. The unit is also responsible for coordinating child rights policy, disability policy, and certain social insurance benefits.
Job Responsibilities
The work involves assisting the investigator in the work with the assignment. The tasks include producing background material and analyses that form the basis for the proposals considered within the framework of the inquiry's assignment, as well as maintaining dialogue with relevant stakeholders. It also involves analyzing the proposals considered and drafting legislative proposals linked to the proposals the inquiry ultimately recommends. EU legal analyses and impact assessments may also become relevant.
Your Background
We are looking for you who have a relevant completed academic education, preferably in law, political science, or economics, as well as experience in qualified inquiry work. If you are a lawyer, we would prefer that you are a Court of Appeal or Administrative Court assessor, or have experience in other qualified legal work. Experience working with the unit's issues and experience working in the social policy area is meritorious. Meritorious is also experience in legislative work, work in the Government Offices, or another state authority, as well as experience working in the public inquiry system.
You need to have very good skills in oral and written expression in Swedish and English.
Your Qualities
As a person, you have very good ability to independently plan, coordinate, and drive processes and take your own initiatives. You have good collaboration skills and need to be able to work under time pressure, be resilient, and handle several different types of tasks simultaneously. You are quality-conscious, judicious, structured, and flexible. Furthermore, the work requires that you have good analytical skills and an easy ability to get into complex issues and coordinate different interests. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
Other
Several inquiries will be appointed, which is why there is also a need for several inquiry secretaries. The timing and extent of employment may vary between the inquiries.
As an inquiry secretary, you will receive a fixed-term employment within the framework of the Salary and Benefits Agreement for Experts (Specialist Agreement) within the Government Offices.
The place of work is Stockholm, but there may also be the possibility to work primarily remotely.
