Do you want to take overall responsibility for how product data is created, controlled, and used in a technologically advanced operation? Saab Dockstavarvet is now looking for a Product Data Governance Manager who will play a key role in building a sustainable structure for product and article data. A newly established, strategically important role. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the company's central functions.

About the role

As a Product Data Governance Manager, you take a holistic approach to product and article data to create structure with long-term sustainability. The role is new and offers great opportunities to influence how product data work is organized and developed moving forward. You will have a central position in the organization with the mandate to set direction and create long-term impact. The role is crucial for establishing a common structure for product data and enabling more efficient ways of working throughout the organization.

Today, product data is scattered across several systems and teams. In this role, you are responsible for establishing structure, working methods, and governance that ensure the right data is available. The data must maintain high quality and be used efficiently throughout the entire product lifecycle.

You work closely with the business in a cross-functional role together with Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Quality, and Aftermarket to create common standards, processes, and clear division of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and further develop governance for product and article data
  • Define data models, ownership, and processes such as RACI, flows, and approvals
  • Map needs and lead workshops together with the business
  • Ensure high data quality through controls, follow-up, and improvement work
  • Coordinate and optimize data flows between PLM, PDM, and ERP systems
  • Drive improvement initiatives and monitor relevant KPIs
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of system support and working methods

Experience and qualifications

To succeed in the role, you likely have:

  • At least five years of work experience with product data, master data, or information management in technical, manufacturing, or maintenance environments
  • Experience defining and structuring data models, taxonomies, bills of materials, and article data
  • Good understanding of how data flows between systems such as PLM, PDM, and ERP
  • Experience working with processes and governance
  • Ability to collaborate with technical teams regarding integrations, as well as a basic understanding of APIs, data structures, and system connections
  • Strong communication skills and experience working cross-functionally, as well as the ability to translate business needs into clear working methods and standards

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience with data governance or change management
  • Experience with PLM, PDM, or ERP systems such as Teamcenter, Windchill, Aras, Vault PDM, SAP, or Dynamics
  • Understanding of manufacturing environments, such as routing and work instructions
  • Experience with data quality work, for example validation rules, follow-up, and improvement of master data

As a person, you are structured, driven, and have the ability to engage others in change. You thrive in a role that combines strategic responsibility with operational work. The role offers great opportunities to influence and shape product data work in a developing organization.
