About the Role

The IT Support department at Region Västernorrland is responsible for providing a consolidated IT service delivery to our core operations: Regional Development and Health and Medical Care. Within IT Support, the IT Healthcare Services unit is tasked with, together with the core operations, managing the IT components uniquely used by Health and Medical Care. All managed IT components serve a business-critical purpose and are fundamental to the care provided within the region.

An IT Specialist at Region Västernorrland works in a business-critical environment where IT support is absolutely crucial for the daily functioning of Health and Medical Care. The role sits at the intersection of technology, healthcare operations, and administration, contributing directly to a safe, stable, and efficient care delivery in the region. The role involves:

• Managing, developing, and ensuring the quality of IT components used specifically within health and medical care.
• Ensuring operational reliability and availability of systems critical to healthcare work.
• Acting as a link between IT and healthcare operations, focusing on requirement gathering, specification, incident management, and planning.
• Contributing to the region's work in digitalization, standardization, and modernization of healthcare-related IT services.

We are looking for an IT Specialist. The position is a permanent full-time employment with start date as agreed. Locations: Sundsvall, Sollefteå, or Örnsköldsvik.

Responsibilities

• Technical administration of healthcare systems and medical applications
• Troubleshooting, incident, and problem management
• Collaboration with suppliers and internal administration teams
• Lead and/or participate in change management, release management, and lifecycle planning
• Participate in projects related to business development
• Documentation, quality assurance, and work according to the region's structures (e.g., PM3, ITIL)

Qualifications

We are looking for you who

• Have a technical upper secondary or university education in IT or relevant experience that the employer finds suitable for the position
• Have experience working with IT in larger organizations with complex environments
• Have experience working with system administration of business-critical systems and systematic improvement work
• Have experience working with incident/problem management and technical application operations
• Have experience working according to PM3, ITIL, or similar structures
• Have experience in business-oriented IT work, preferably within healthcare or the public sector
• Have experience working with projects, system implementations, release management, and change management
• Have good skills in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Have good skills in English, both spoken and written
• Hold a valid driver's license (Category B)

It is an advantage if you

• Have education in PM3, ITIL, project management, leadership, or Agile working methods
