We are looking for a University Lecturer who wants to be part of Luleå University of Technology's vision to shape the future through innovative education and groundbreaking research, and who has the competence and drive to integrate education and research in the field of clinical psychology.
The Department of Health, Medicine and Rehabilitation offers degrees in psychology, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy, undergraduate programs in health guidance and psychology, as well as courses in medical science. Research and doctoral education are conducted within the subjects of occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and psychology.
The position of University Lecturer in Clinical Psychology is located within the research subject of Psychology. Today, we have 25 colleagues, including five doctoral students, working in areas such as clinical psychology, sports psychology, eyewitness psychology, developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and technical psychology.
Our teaching includes our five-year psychology program, our undergraduate program in psychology, and the course Evidence-Based Psychotherapy.
Subject Description
The subject of psychology involves systematically exploring the individual's experiences, behavior, and biology, as well as their interrelationships and underlying mechanisms. Psychology as a discipline has produced applicable knowledge for the benefit of the individual for over 100 years, with the aim of describing and understanding human emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in all situations and environments.
Job Responsibilities
The primary area of work for this position is clinical psychology, but work in other areas of psychology will also be an important part of the employment. Within the teaching assignment, you are expected to develop and maintain pedagogical quality, teach, and supervise students at all levels. The responsibilities also include conducting research focused on clinical psychology. The research assignment involves forming networks and collaborating with Norrbotten County Council, municipalities, and private actors, as well as being active in the research community and seeking external research funding. The role may include leadership and administrative duties, contributing to the university's development work, and following the international development of the subject within clinical psychology. We are open to the possibility that the position can be combined with clinical service or other external activities, subject to agreement and in accordance with current regulations.
Qualifications
To be eligible for appointment as a University Lecturer, the candidate must:
- Hold a PhD or equivalent scientific competence in the field of clinical psychology
- Hold a Swedish psychologist license
- Have demonstrated pedagogical skill
- Have completed higher education pedagogy equivalent to 7.5 credits or acquired equivalent knowledge in another way

To succeed and thrive in the role of University Lecturer, you need to have good collaboration and planning skills, and it must be assessed how the applicant, through their experience and competence, complements and strengthens ongoing research, basic education, and innovation within the subject, as well as contributes to its future development. Furthermore, you must have the ability to create and maintain contacts; you are communicative and receptive.
