Do you want to help develop teaching where all students are given the opportunity to succeed based on their own prerequisites?

IES Helsingborg is now looking for an engaged Special Needs Teacher in Swedish as a Second Language/Swedish (SvA/SV) on a 50% basis who wants to work closely with both students and colleagues to strengthen student learning and contribute to an accessible and inclusive learning environment.

About the Role

As a Special Needs Teacher, you work to support students in need of special assistance, both individually and in small groups. You assess students' needs, plan and implement targeted educational interventions, and follow up on student development. The role involves creating and monitoring action plans and being responsible for documentation regarding students' support measures.

The role also includes providing support to colleagues regarding extra adjustments, learning environments, and teaching strategies. You contribute your expertise to collegial work concerning students in need of support and participate in the school's efforts to develop teaching so that it becomes accessible to more students.

Among other things, you will:

  • Plan and conduct teaching for students in need of special assistance.
  • Assess students' need for special assistance and follow up on interventions.
  • Create, monitor, and evaluate action plans.
  • Be responsible for documentation related to support measures.
  • Contribute to the development of teaching and accessible learning environments.
  • Collaborate with the student health team and school management.
  • Cooperate with teachers regarding extra adjustments and support measures.

We are looking for someone who

  • Is a certified teacher with a Special Needs Teacher degree, with qualifications for grades 4–9.
  • Has a structured and solution-focused approach to work.
  • Has good collaboration skills and thrives in working closely with colleagues.
  • Has a relational approach and sees possibilities in every student's learning.
