Have you ever taken electronics apart just to understand how they work? Built something yourself involving sound, light, drones, or similar? Whether you already have a few years of experience or are new to your career and want to work closely with both hardware and software, this role might be for you.

Teltek develops and builds its own machines from scratch at its premises in Örebro. Here, electronics, software, and mechanics meet in products used daily in the food industry. Everything is developed close to the product.

With around 30 employees, short decision-making paths, and approximately 2,000 machines out with customers, there are plenty of opportunities to develop further and help shape the direction of the company.

As a developer at Teltek, you don't need to know everything from the start. You join a team where you work closely with both hardware and software, gradually building your competence in low-level programming, electronics, and the interaction between them. For those further along in their careers, there is an opportunity to contribute your experience and help develop both technology and working methods.

There is a lot of experience to lean on here, and whether you are at the beginning of your career or have worked for a few years, you need to be curious, eager to develop, and willing to experiment," says Henrik Bergersen, CEO at Teltek.

The work takes place close to the product and in collaboration with colleagues in development, production, and design. You get the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the systems and contribute as you grow into the role, or take on greater responsibility directly based on your experience.

A big part of the charm of Teltek is the proximity to the physical. What you develop becomes part of a machine used in reality, creating a clear link between technology and function. This also suggests that you have a genuine interest in technology. Perhaps you have tested your own projects, tinkered with electronics, or simply like to understand how things work on a deep level.

"We do not micromanage. You get responsibility, but also support along the way. The goal is for you to become really good at this area over time," Henrik concludes.

Examples of tasks

• Work with programming close to the hardware, primarily in C/C++.
• Familiarize yourself with and understand existing systems and codebases.
• Debug and analyze behaviors in both software and electronics.
• Contribute to the further development of functions in existing machines.
• Participate in the development of new solutions and improvements.
• Work with the interaction between hardware and software.
• Collaborate with colleagues in development, production, and design.
• Document and share knowledge regarding solutions and working methods.

We believe you bring

• A degree in Engineering from a University/College or equivalent.
• A strong interest in electronics, programming, or the interaction between them.
• A desire to develop within low-level programming and hardware-near systems.
• Basic knowledge in either software or hardware.

It is meritorious if you have experience with programming, for example in C or C++, and if you have worked with or have an understanding of electronics or embedded systems. If you have also tested your own projects within technology, for example within sound, light, or control systems, it is a plus. Experience with debugging and a desire to understand why things work the way they do will also be valuable in the role.
