Social Worker for the School Social Team – Åtvidaberg Municipality
Åtvidabergs kommunÖstergötlands län, Åtvidaberg
Previous experience is desired
Welcome to a workplace where we not only dare to think new – we encourage it! At Åtvidaberg Municipality, we work with courage, a holistic perspective, and long-term thinking in everything we do.
We are looking for two employees for the school social team. One social worker employed by the social services (this advertisement) and one school staff member with relevant education in psychosocial work.
The school social team complements existing operational efforts, such as attendance teams and other support activities. The assignment is to capture, analyze, and translate experiences from operational work into developed working methods that reach a broader target group. Through this, the team contributes to creating sustainable structures for early interventions and strengthened collaboration between schools, social services, and other actors, such as child and adolescent psychiatry.
Your responsibilities
As a social worker in the team, you will base your work on the social services' intake function. In addition to the collaborative work in the team, you will also work with official authority tasks. In this role, you will have a special focus on social and psychosocial factors that affect students' school attendance.
Your assignment is to contribute to ensuring that children and young people receive the right support at the right time, with the aim of strengthening school attendance, goal achievement, and mental well-being. Through early and active work, you should identify children at risk of school absenteeism and ensure that relevant assessments and interventions are initiated promptly. In close collaboration with schools, guardians, and other actors, you are responsible for coordinating interventions that are accurate, needs-adapted, and sustainable over time.
You who apply
We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker. We would like you to have knowledge of schools and experience of working in or collaborating with schools. It is also desirable if you have experience of working with school absenteeism.
To succeed in the role, we see that you are calm and confident and have an easy time collaborating. You have a good understanding of how humans absorb knowledge and individuals' different prerequisites. You show interest by actively listening and giving feedback. We also see that you have the ability to create good relationships with other people by being receptive, showing empathy, and respect. We also see that you adapt easily to changed circumstances.
About the employment
The position is a permanent full-time employment.
