Are you our new colleague?
The residence is located in Västerhaninge and consists of 17 apartments. By 2026, the residence will be expanded to 23 apartments. The activity is aimed at individuals with mental health issues who need support in their daily lives. The work is based on approved interventions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and implementation plans drawn up together with the individual. The support is planned, implemented, and followed up based on the individual's needs, resources, and goals.
The goal is for the residents to receive the support they need to develop and maintain their abilities, as well as to live as independent, secure, and meaningful a life as possible.
Your role as a residential support worker
As an employee in the activity, you provide support to the residents in their daily lives based on implementation plans and individual needs. The work involves motivating and supporting the individual to increase independence, participation, and structure in daily life.
The tasks include, among other things:
- Support with household chores such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, and shopping.
- Accompany and provide support during healthcare contacts, such as doctor's visits.
- Support the individual in contacts with authorities.
- Motivate social activities and help break isolation, for example through walks, outings, and other activities.
- Work systematically with engagement and activities based on the individual's needs, abilities, and goals.
- Support the individual in creating structure in daily life.
- Handle medication according to delegation and current routines.
- Document in the social journal and work based on the implementation plan.
- Collaborate with colleagues and other actors regarding the individual's support and needs.
What we are looking for in you
You are a stable person who can remain calm in difficult situations. You have an empathetic and respectful approach and work in a structured and solution-oriented manner. You have the ability to build trusting relationships and motivate people through change processes.
You are flexible, responsible, and work well with others, while also being able to work independently. Patience, humor, and personal maturity are important qualities in the work.
Your qualifications
- Assistant nurse with a psychiatric focus or other relevant post-secondary education, such as social pedagogue or treatment assistant.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health issues is an advantage.
- Knowledge of mental health and social work according to SoL.
- Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
- Basic IT skills for documentation.
Other
- A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.
The work involves shifts during days, evenings, and weekends according to a schedule.
You must have tolerance for smoking.
