Why VSAB?
VSAB is in a strong phase of development where technical expertise, quality, and close customer collaboration are central success factors. With a stable market position, a self-developed frame system, and a culture characterized by professionalism and flat hierarchy, the company continues to grow – both in scope and complexity. They are now looking for a designer who wants to take on a key role and help shape the future steel frames in some of Sweden's most exciting construction projects.
Your future workplace
VSAB delivers complete steel frames to construction projects across the country – from design to final delivery. Here, you work in an organization with short decision-making paths, high technical competence, and close collaboration between design, project management, procurement, and production.
With production located in Lidköping and a self-developed frame system (IQB) as the foundation, VSAB offers a work environment where you quickly see the results of your work and where technical solutions are turned into reality – every day.
The team consists of approximately 10 office staff and 29 production employees. You will become part of a design and engineering team that works closely together, where knowledge sharing is a natural part of everyday life.
Your new assignment
As a designer at VSAB, you will have a broad and varied role where you work closely with both customers and internal functions. You will become a central part of the project delivery and be responsible for developing technical solutions that maintain high quality, are adapted for production, and comply with current standards.
Your responsibilities will include, among other things:
- Design and construct steel and composite frames in Tekla
- Perform calculations according to Eurocode, SS-EN 1090, and ISO 3834
- Work on several parallel projects – from smaller assignments to large, complex frame deliveries
- Act as a sub-project leader in projects and serve as a technical contact person
- Maintain close dialogue with project managers, customers, procurement, and production
- Ensure that solutions follow bids, specifications, and internal standards
- Contribute to the development of working methods, routines, and technical solutions
The work takes place in a structured project process with clear routines, standards, and a well-functioning management system as support. You never work alone – every project is staffed with at least two designers.
About you
We are looking for someone with experience in building construction who thrives in a role where technology, structure, and collaboration go hand in hand. You are meticulous, responsible, and confident in your technical competence. You enjoy working in project form, have good communication skills, and appreciate when the pace varies between large and small assignments.
To succeed, we believe you have:
- A university degree in building construction or equivalent
- Experience in steel design/calculation
- Very good skills in Tekla
- Experience with load-bearing steel structures and relevant standards (Eurocode, SS-EN 1090, ISO 3834)
- Good ability to work systematically and keep order in parallel projects
- Good command of Swedish, both spoken and written
Qualifications that are meritorious include:
- Revit
- Fire technical design
- FEM-design
- SB-Balk, Ramanalys/Frame Analysis
- Experience within construction or prefab
Where culture meets people
At VSAB, you become part of a flat-hierarchy and engaged organization where everyone works towards the same goal: delivering steel frames with the highest quality and precision. Here, you get:
- A thoughtful introduction
- A workplace where technology and production are close by
- Colleagues who are happy to share their knowledge
- A culture characterized by collaboration, responsibility, and pride
A few words from your future manager

We are looking for you who want to take responsibility, contribute with your knowledge, and be part of our continued development.”
