DVT Assistans has been working since 2005 to create a smooth daily routine for both our clients and our assistants. We achieve this by offering personal assistance based on engagement, respect, and care – something that makes a real difference for clients, relatives, and our employees. We are an employer that values our staff. At DVT Assistans, you work under secure and good working conditions, with collective agreements, occupational pension, and wellness benefits as a natural part of your employment. It is important to us that you, as an assistant, feel appreciated, secure, and involved. Our core values – Participation, Dignity, and Accessibility – permeate the entire operation and are a living part of our daily work. Today, DVT Assistans employs approximately 350 personal assistants. With us, you get more than a job – you get the world's most important job, where you have the opportunity every day to make a real difference in another person's life.
To be considered as my personal assistant, you must have a driver's license and a car, and you must be able to take me to your home. You need to be a calm and secure woman...
I am a 28-year-old woman with cerebral palsy (CP) and a developmental disability. I need a lot of help and support in my daily life. I can walk, but I have poor balance. Therefore, I also use a wheelchair for longer walks. This also means I have difficulty climbing stairs. If you live on the second floor or higher, there must be an elevator.
I do not speak, but I use sounds, facial expressions, and some signs to help with communication. However, I understand quite a bit of what you say to me. I am usually very happy. I enjoy doing things, such as bowling, swimming, having coffee, and spending time at your home.
During the day, I attend day activities, but I need an assistant to take care of me afterwards. I live with my parents, but we cannot be together there because then I completely ignore you and want to hang out with my mom instead.
On Mondays, we go horse riding, so it is great if you are horse-friendly and absolutely not allergic or afraid.
The employment level is 70%, and the working hours follow a two-week rolling schedule:
Week 1: Mon 15:00–17:30, Tue 15:00–19:00, Wed 15:00–19:00, Thu 15:00–19:00, Sat 8:30–19:00, Sun 8:30–19:00
Week 2: Mon 15:00–17:30, Tue 15:00–19:00, Wed 15:00–19:00, Thu 15:00–19:00, Fri 15:00–20:00
We would like you to send in a personal letter where you tell us where you live, a little about yourself, and how you think you would fit the job. We also want your CV and references.
