Your Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities are research and teaching. Teaching is conducted in close collaboration with colleagues within the institution's programs and covers courses at bachelor's, master's, and PhD levels. Teaching at the bachelor's level takes place primarily within the Bachelor's program in System Architecture with a focus on software development, while teaching and course development at the master's and PhD levels are mainly conducted within Informatics.
In teaching, you are responsible for conveying knowledge within a broad spectrum of areas within software and system development. This may include, for example, basic data structures and algorithms in C#, object-oriented programming in C#, DevOps, data visualization, applied artificial intelligence (AI), parallel and distributed programming, software development projects, as well as web and mobile development. Teaching at the bachelor's level is primarily in Swedish, while teaching at the advanced level is primarily in English.
The institution's policy is that employees also participate in research projects related to the institution's research groups. There are two such groups at the institution: InnovationLab, focusing on studies and development of artifacts within digital innovation, and ComputerScienceLab, where research is focused on artificial intelligence and data analysis of large datasets. A significant part of the ongoing research has a focus on data-driven digital innovation and is often conducted in externally funded projects in collaboration with industry.
An important part of the job is to contribute to the continued development of the research environment. This is primarily done through own research, but also through supervising doctoral students and by creating applications for external research funding. Building and maintaining collaboration with national and international networks is a natural part of the work.
The position includes 30% research and competence development time during the first two years, which after two years converts to coverage according to the current working time agreement.
Your Qualifications
The position requires a PhD degree or equivalent scientific competence in computer science or another subject relevant to the position, such as informatics. You must have demonstrated pedagogical skill as well as good and documented knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Furthermore, documented experience of teaching within software and system development relevant to the institution is required, as well as experience of course responsibility and development of course materials.
Your scientific skill should be documented through scientific publication, participation in conferences, involvement in research collaborations, and other assignments within the scientific community, such as review or expert assignments. You should also have the ability to contribute to the development of the institution's research in computer science and informatics.
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability and the ability to collaborate in teaching teams.
A general eligibility requirement for permanent employment as a teacher is completed higher education pedagogical education equivalent to 10 weeks of full-time study, or equivalent competence. An employee lacking higher education pedagogical education must complete the education during the first two years of employment.
