About the Role of Support Assistant

As a support assistant, you will work with providing individually adapted support to people with disabilities, with the goal of promoting their independence and well-being in daily life. You will support users in their daily routines and activities, based on their needs and abilities, always using their personal implementation plan as a starting point.

We work with a salutogenic and pedagogical approach, where we start from each individual's unique strengths and resources. The goal is for users to achieve as much independence as possible and to be able to live a meaningful life with high quality of life. As a support assistant, you work based on clear pedagogy and low-affective handling to create security and predictability in the users' daily lives. At the same time, we have a strong focus on working professionally and efficiently within the organization's resources.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Deaf or otherwise fully fluent in sign language is a requirement!
Very good skills in written Swedish.
Good computer skills, experience with documentation.
Experience working within care and social services.
Upper secondary education such as Child and Youth Program, Care and Care Program, or post-secondary education such as support pedagogy, social pedagogy, or university education in a relevant field.

Merits if you additionally have:

Driver's license.
Experience with dementia, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and low-affective handling.
Experience working with complex support needs.

Employment Conditions

Employment Type: Fixed-term
Work Hours: Part-time as needed
Working Hours: Variable. Daytime, evening, and awake night shifts.
Start Date: According to agreement
Collective Agreement: We are bound by collective agreements with Vårdföretagarna/Kommunal, Sector E.

About the Location

Unika Öbergsgatan is centrally located with proximity to most amenities. Good train and bus connections are available. The residence is located about an hour from Stockholm and 46 minutes from Örebro by train. A walk across the beautiful Eskilstuna River or a short bus ride from the train station will take you to Öbergsgatan. The bus stops right outside the group home.
