About the job as a personal assistant

As a personal assistant, you work closely with a person with a disability in their daily life. You assist and support the person both in everyday life and during leisure time. Your workplace is wherever the client is, and your overall task is to assist the client so that they have the conditions to live the life they desire.

Responsibilities

Your tasks depend on the client's needs and lifestyle. They can range from personal hygiene, assistance with mobility, housework, and cooking to assisting the client at work or during activities outside the home.

About the client

The client is a cheerful and positive man in his early 50s who lives with his wife and their cats. The client uses a wheelchair and requires personal assistance around the clock.

We currently need to strengthen the assistant team with 2–3 assistants who can work as hourly substitutes when needed. The job requires that you can sometimes step in with short notice and that you are flexible, attentive, and positive.

Gender does not matter, but we would prefer you to be between 30–45 years old. We are looking for someone who is empathetic, understanding, and has a genuine interest in working with people. It is important that you view the work as long-term. The workplace may vary as you follow the client in their daily life.

The client has a speech impairment, which makes it important that you have a good command of the Swedish language to ensure effective communication. Experience working as a personal assistant is an advantage, as is knowledge about asthma. The client has an interest in music and sports.

What we are looking for

We are looking for you who are responsible, attentive, and quick to learn new tasks. At Särnmark, you will always receive an introduction at the client's home as well as access to training regarding the role of a personal assistant.

About the employment

The form of employment is for a fixed term as long as the assistance assignment lasts, and the wage form is hourly pay. Working hours vary based on the client's needs: day, evening, night (active and on-call), weekdays, and weekends.

Salary and other terms of employment according to the collective agreement for Personal Assistance, Vårdföretagarna - Kommunal.
