About the Role

As a Business-Oriented Controller at Yangi, you will play a central role in developing and driving the company's financial management. You will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for financial reporting to the management team, board of directors, and investors.

This role is for you if you thrive in an entrepreneurial environment where you combine operational work with business-oriented analysis and strategic thinking. You will become a key player in the organization, with a clear opportunity to grow into a CFO role over a 2–3 year period as the company and you develop.

The processes are not yet fully built – you are expected to help build them. This means you need to take initiative, think independently, and contribute even outside your formal role when necessary. In a startup, there is no one else to "wipe the tables" – we help each other and build together.

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for and development of ongoing reporting, annual accounts, budget, and forecasts
• Ensure compliance with Swedish accounting standards (K3, VAT, tax)
• Responsible for reporting to management, board, investors, and external stakeholders
• Work on financial follow-up of projects, including grant-funded projects (Vinnova, Swedish Energy Agency, EU)
• Produce analyses, key performance indicators (KPIs), and decision support materials for management
• Build and develop financial processes, systems, and internal controls
• Participate in the implementation of new systems, management systems, and working methods
• Drive efficiency within the finance function, including utilizing modern tools and AI as support in analysis and reporting
• Collaborate with auditors, authorities, and external partners

Profile

• Good knowledge of Swedish accounting and financial regulations
• Knowledge of international VAT
• Experience from growth companies, startups, or scale-ups is advantageous
• Experience in project accounting and grant funding is advantageous
• Very good skills in Excel
• Analytical, structured, and detail-oriented
• Strong system proficiency and interest in digital tools
• Good communication skills
