General Practitioner at Östhammar Health Centre – Join Our 1100 Patients Initiative

Do you also want 1,100 patients on your list? If you are a General Practitioner, you have a unique opportunity to apply to Östhammar Health Centre.

Our 1,800 employees work with close-to-home care and health in Uppsala County. We offer a wide range of services within primary care. Our patients meet us at Region Uppsala's own health centres or within habilitation services, and we provide advice by phone via 1177. Education, research, and development are important to us, as we tailor our services to the needs of the residents. We already offer mobile teams, video visits, and smart e-services.

Now is a unique opportunity to be part of our initiative where we are hiring more General Practitioners to Östhammar Health Centre, aiming to offer 1,100 listed patients per full-time employed GP by 2026. Join us from the start, and you will have excellent opportunities to influence our new ways of working, patient flows, and appointment scheduling!

We offer permanent positions at 75–100%. The extent of employment is discussed based on the applicant's preferences. Start date by agreement.

Your Role

Here, you will work in close collaboration with all professions at the health centre and within teams. Your tasks include outpatient work with good opportunities for other stimulating duties, such as supervising BT/AT/ST doctors and responsibility for various clinical processes based on interest. As part of the role, you will contribute to developing our operations, with good opportunities to influence work arrangements, appointment schedules, and thereby your work environment. Some on-call duty/standby is included, as is standard across primary care in Region Uppsala. We offer the possibility to work partially remotely.

If interested, there is an opportunity to combine your work at the health centre with work at the Close Care Unit, a ward located at the care centre.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a doctor with specialist competence in general medicine, Swedish licensure, and good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Since we are currently in a phase where we have great opportunities to develop our operations, it is meritorious if you have an interest in healthcare development with the patient and patient flows in focus. It is also beneficial if you appreciate working in teams regarding patients with other professions to achieve efficient flows. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

Our Operations

We are the health centre with great opportunities, and we are looking for you who want to develop together with us! Care is provided within a care centre consisting of a health centre, emergency clinic, close care unit, and short-term unit. We have radiology and a laboratory in the same building.

We are located near the sea in an archipelago environment in Östhammar, with good connections (approx. 70 km) from Uppsala. The bus stops nearby, and there is free parking at the health centre. Here, all professions work closely together to provide the best possible care, and you can become part of our team!

We have approximately 6,500 listed patients and are 30 employees offering most services within primary care. We have very well-functioning nurse-led clinics. At the health centre, we strive to provide our patients with the best possible care. We value a good and stimulating work environment with personalized solutions.

Region Uppsala values the qualities that equal gender distribution and diversity bring to the operations and welcomes applicants of all genders and with different backgrounds, abilities, and life experiences.

Region Uppsala mobilizes all permanent staff based on the needs of the total defense. This means no obligations for the individual employee in peacetime but is solely a planning measure.

Before making employment decisions, checks of suspicion and criminal records are conducted for all job seekers who, in the sought position, may come to work within psychiatric care, habilitation, care of children and adolescents, or compulsory care of substance abusers (areas covered by optional record extracts). This thus applies to all who will work close to patients, even if the tasks are not currently intended to primarily involve work with the aforementioned patient groups.

This recruitment is conducted entirely through Region Uppsala, and we decline phone calls from recruitment agencies and advertising salespeople.
