About the Job
Montessori Droppen is a free school (F-6) and preschool located in central Haparanda. A cornerstone of our pedagogy is "help me to find myself," where we view every child as competent and possessing an inherent drive towards independence. Other fundamental principles we emphasize are the interaction between adults, children, and a prepared environment, fostering lifelong learning.
We are now looking for you who are a trained teacher in textile arts and needlework and who are passionate about solving pedagogical challenges. We work together with the children to create a shared work environment where everyone, both staff and students, can thrive and feel safe.
Job Description
For the academic year 2026/2027, we are looking for you who are qualified to teach textile arts and needlework. You have a norm-critical approach and are willing and able to adapt teaching based on the students' prerequisites. We see health promotion as an important part of our work to create the best conditions for every child to succeed in school, and we assume that you are broadly interested in health and its significance for academic success. Your duties include planning and implementing teaching, as well as developing the pedagogical activities.
We want you to be characterized by curiosity, respect, and appreciation in your interactions with students, as well as in your engagement with the pedagogy we practice at Montessori Droppen. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of and/or experience with Montessori pedagogy, but above all, you must be interested and willing to learn. We have high goals with our work; not only do we want our students to achieve knowledge goals, but also to ensure the well-being and safety of all children in school. We want you to work in collaboration with all other school staff to create a school climate where students respect each other and provide and receive a peaceful working environment.
We are looking for you who want to make a difference for our children.
Qualifications
You are a certified teacher and qualified to teach within the field of textile arts and needlework. Previous experience is an advantage.
Since the work is based on close collaboration with colleagues, the principal, and guardians, interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate are important traits. Working efficiently to achieve common goals is part of your daily routine. The role involves finding creative and flexible solutions together with others to meet the needs of individuals and groups, as well as creating forms for real influence for students in the school.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
