Are you interested in dermatology and perhaps already working in the field? Or are you curious about deepening your knowledge in this area? Here, you will have the opportunity to develop, educate yourself, and eventually specialize in dermatology in a highly specialized clinical environment.
About AniCura Västra Djursjukhuset
At AniCura Västra Djursjukhuset in Gothenburg, our heroes work every day to provide high-quality veterinary care and save lives. Since our founding in 2007, we have built a strong, dedicated team with a shared vision: to shape the future of veterinary care together.
We are an established and personal veterinary clinic with many years of combined expertise under one roof. Our operations are staffed around the clock, with reception hours between 08:00–20:00. Here, you will encounter a varied patient flow with both emergency cases and referrals, and we offer specialist clinics in areas such as ophthalmology, dermatology, dentistry, diabetes, gastroenterology, cardiology, feline medicine, and lameness.
Our ward is separated for dogs and cats and includes an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). On our modern operating department, we perform most types of procedures in both soft tissue surgery and orthopedics. The veterinary hospital is also equipped with computed tomography (CT), digital X-ray, and several ultrasound units for both abdominal and cardiac examinations.
Here, you become part of a safe and experienced team where collaboration and knowledge exchange are in focus. We offer a learning and developing work environment where you get the opportunity to grow in your professional role while contributing to providing every patient with the best possible care.
About the Role
Here, you will have a role where you not only work clinically – you also get the opportunity to shape your own development journey within dermatology. Whether you already have experience or wish to niche down in this area, we create the conditions for you to grow.
In your daily work, you will:
- Work with the investigation, diagnosis, and treatment of dermatological patient cases – with support from experienced colleagues and specialists when needed.
- Meet a varied patient group where no day is the same – from simple skin problems to more complex and long-term cases.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in internal medicine, surgery, and diagnostic imaging to create holistic solutions and provide every patient with the best possible care.
- Gradually deepen your competence in dermatology and be given the opportunity to eventually take on a more specialized role in the field.
- Participate in targeted further education and development initiatives that support your journey towards increased specialization and potential specialization.
You will become part of a practice where knowledge exchange, curiosity, and development are a natural part of everyday life – and where we would love for you to influence both your own and the team's development.
Evening and weekend work is included according to schedule, as we adjust our staffing based on patient needs.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for you who have a genuine interest in dermatology – whether you are already working in the field or wish to develop and niche down.
You are:
- A licensed veterinarian with at least 5 years of clinical experience in small animal care.
- Curious and motivated to develop within dermatology and deepen your competence.
- Confident in your core competence and accustomed to working independently with patient cases.
- A team player who appreciates collaboration and knowledge exchange.
- Engaged in both your own and the practice's development.
Previous experience in dermatology is meritorious, but not a requirement – we place great emphasis on the right attitude and the desire to develop within the field.
