Karlshamn Municipality is looking for registered nurses for special housing and home healthcare. The needs in the operations change over time, which means we must be flexible within the operations. Over time, we have opportunities for different placements such as PAS – Patient Responsible Nurse, or resource services that can be within special housing (säbo), short-term units, or ordinary housing.

"Being a nurse in the municipality means I get to combine the best of different worlds. With one patient, I provide emergency care with drips and intravenous antibiotics; with the next, I make an assessment after a fall. One patient is palliative, where I have many conversations with relatives and contact with the palliative team. I provide training for the nursing staff regarding a disease condition that was not previously known. I round with my doctor and have gathered questions beforehand that I need help with based on the patients' health conditions. I often follow my patients for a long time, which allows us to build relationships; this makes my assessments easier when I know the patient and promotes good and safe care," says Sofia, a nurse at Special Housing in Karlshamn Municipality.

Job Description:

When working as a nurse, you plan and carry out your work independently, but always with helpful colleagues nearby. You have your work list for the shift and base your work on the patients' needs, prioritizing among planned and more urgent interventions. You work daytime hours and every sixth weekend. You have a supervisory role towards delegated nursing staff regardless of the time of day.

Requirements for the position:

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• Class B driver's license for manual transmission
• Qualified communicative skills, requiring good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Good habit of using a computer as a work tool

Merits for the position:

• Specialized training relevant to the operations
• Experience from municipal home healthcare
• Experience from psychiatry or palliative care
