Job Description

The Health and Medical Services organization within the Department of Elderly Care is responsible for healthcare in the entire municipality of Karlskrona, including ordinary housing, special housing, and short-term care. Our team in Karlskrona municipality is now looking for a new colleague who wants to work as a Physiotherapist alongside a wonderful group of colleagues! We offer you meaningful and stimulating work together with colleagues who have long experience and broad knowledge within the profession. Whether you have many years of experience or are a recent graduate, you will have the opportunity to develop together with positive and non-hierarchical colleagues in a creative environment.

Here, you will meet patients of all ages who need healthcare and/or preventive health measures at home, in special housing, and/or short-term care. The work is autonomous, and you plan your own calendar most days.

In your role as a Physiotherapist, you conduct individual assessments and design rehabilitation plans, supervise, instruct, and delegate rehabilitation efforts to patients, relatives, and care staff. You also prescribe exercise and mobility aids and work on improvement projects. You work with patients having issues related to the musculoskeletal system, neurological diseases, pain, gait and balance difficulties, and mobility problems. The operation includes a stroke team and fall prevention work through, for example, balance groups. We are engaged and proactive, constantly working on improvements.

The immediate work group consists of Licensed Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Assistants. We work in a cross-professional and person-centered manner, and there are good conditions for collaboration with other professions as we share office premises with, among others, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, and Social Workers from the Department of Elderly Care.

We have a well-functioning workflow where cases are prioritized by coordinators. This frees up time for patient work, and it is also experienced positively to see different parts of the municipality. Cases are covered during absence, which reduces stress and increases the opportunity to help each other. The administrative part of the work can be done remotely for some time. There is an opportunity for competence development upon request, and we share our competence and knowledge to learn from each other, both in daily work and during professional meetings.

Qualifications

  • Licensed physiotherapist.
  • Experience working with the elderly and people with disabilities is meritorious, but we also believe that with curiosity and willingness, you can go far.
  • The position requires a valid driver's license (Category B).

The work as a Physiotherapist requires a natural respect for other people and sensitivity to individual patients' needs. Good treatment of patients, relatives, colleagues, and other professions is of great importance. As patients' needs change constantly, the assignment places high demands on flexibility and the ability to be proactive and see opportunities instead of obstacles. You should be good at collaborating, have a good ability to plan, and be able to organize your work independently. You should be computer literate and not unfamiliar with new technology.

Personal suitability is given great weight.

We are looking for you who independently seek out new challenges, get things done, and initiate activities and projects.

You enjoy working in a team and strive for common goals. It is natural for you to compromise and to share information and knowledge.

We are looking for you who are communicative and clear. You have the ability to listen actively to understand others' perspectives and to give and receive constructive feedback.

Employment Conditions

Interviews may take place on an ongoing basis.

  • Employment type: Permanent.
  • Duration: Permanent.
