Welcome to District Veterinarians Karlskrona

We are looking for a licensed veterinary nurse (legitimerad djursjukskötare) for our newly renovated clinic, which features a newly built surgical department. We primarily focus on small animals and horses, but also handle some cattle cases. The clinic is beautifully located in an old barn in Lyckeby, right on the outskirts of the lovely coastal city of Karlskrona. Currently, eight veterinarians, three licensed veterinary nurses, and five animal care assistants work at the clinic. We are a cheerful team that works well together and supports each other in all situations. Karlskrona is built on islands and is a popular holiday destination during the summer.

Our small animal clinic includes a surgical department with gas anesthesia and dental X-rays, as well as a polyclinic equipped with X-ray, endoscopy, ultrasound, and a fully equipped lab. The equine clinic features examination stalls, ultrasound, X-ray, endoscopy, and full dental equipment. Access to an indoor riding arena is also available.

Responsibilities

Usually, three veterinarians are on duty at the small animal clinic each day, along with animal care assistants and licensed veterinary nurses. We handle both scheduled and emergency cases during the day. We have scheduled surgery days every week.

Depending on your qualifications and experience, your tasks may include: Patient-oriented work such as vaccinations, anesthesia monitoring, assisting veterinarians in clinical procedures, and other general clinic duties.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed veterinary nurse, or alternatively, an animal care assistant. We seek someone who, like us, enjoys working together to ensure the client has a positive experience during their visit. You are ambitious, have a positive attitude, and wish to develop together with your colleagues. You should be good at collaborating and flexible, as our work is often event-driven.

Previous experience working at a small animal clinic is an advantage.
