Do you want to help strengthen students' mother tongues? At the Multilingualism Unit, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference – to spark joy in language and create security in students' learning. We are now looking for a Dutch mother tongue teacher who wants to contribute to every student growing through their language!

The Multilingualism Unit is a central unit for mother tongue instruction and tutoring in mother tongues within a 6-19 year perspective: in preschool class, primary school, adapted primary school, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school.

The unit's mandate includes coordinating and organizing activities in both municipal and independent schools.

Our administrative offices are located at Fyrisborgsgatan 1, while the pedagogical activities take place at the municipality's schools.

Description of Duties

As a mother tongue teacher, you will teach primary school students in the subject of mother tongue according to current curriculum documents and possibly provide tutoring in the mother tongue. Teaching takes place at the municipality's schools.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a teacher education or equivalent pedagogical education at the university level that the employer deems relevant for the position. The position requires you to have Dutch as your mother tongue. You must also have good knowledge of Swedish and very good computer skills. Having a B driver's license and your own car is considered an asset.

You have good pedagogical insight and understand how students absorb language and knowledge in different ways. You adapt teaching based on each student's prerequisites and make the language lively and accessible. In your oral communication, you express yourself clearly, engagingly, and in a way that creates security and understanding. Last but not least, you work in a structured manner, planning, organizing, and following up on teaching in an effective way.

In your application, you must state your citizenship. Employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve a wartime placement.
