The Department of Information Technology holds a leading position in both research and education at all levels. We are currently the third largest department at Uppsala University, with over 350 employees, including 120 teachers and 120 doctoral students. The Department of Information Technology is now seeking an amanuensis with the role of project leader.

Job Responsibilities

Participation in teaching within the framework of Introduction to Computers, which is part of several programs' introductory courses in the autumn of 2026. Participation in teaching includes, for example, tutoring in the computer lab, answering students' questions, and grading assignments. • The project leader for Introduction to Computers will be employed for 60 hours.
• The work is distributed during the period from August 2026 to July 2027, with a focus on planning and implementation during August 2026 - October 2026. During the period from October 2026 to July 2027, the work consists of grading late submitted supplementary assignments in connection with re-examination weeks.

Qualification Requirements

To be employed as an amanuensis, it is a requirement that you are admitted to education at the basic or advanced level. Employment as an amanuensis is regulated in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance. The applicant must demonstrate good academic results and have very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

• have a good ability to plan, lead, and follow up on others' work.
• be good at structuring and organizing information.
• have good computer skills.
• be driven by a desire to improve.

Application Procedure

The application must include a letter stating which campus you are studying at (Uppsala or Gotland), the applicant's previous experience in teaching, language, and knowledge (e.g., transcripts). The application must also state how the applicant meets the qualification profile for the project leader. A registration certificate must also be attached to the application.

About the Employment

The employment is time-limited according to Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance. You are employed for each individual assignment and receive financial compensation per hour. The employment will run during the autumn term 2026 and the spring term 2027. Earliest start date is 2026-08-01 or by agreement. Location: Uppsala.
