About the workplace

Fridegårdsgymnasiet is a calm and safe school that works hard to create a positive school culture. We offer university preparatory programs, vocational programs, AST-adapted programs, introductory programs, and adapted upper secondary education. The school is centrally located in Bålsta and has approximately 550 students.

Your responsibilities

You will teach natural sciences and be part of the work team on the Child and Leisure Program. We welcome applicants with natural sciences combined with another subject, as needs may change. Mentoring is a natural and important part of the assignment with us.

You will join a program team with engaged, knowledgeable, and unpretentious colleagues who truly want to make a difference and have good conditions to do good work. Together with the rest of the work team, you are expected to develop working methods, attitudes, and broaden the pedagogical toolkit in an already strong and well-functioning team.

Fridegårdsgymnasiet aims to be a school with good relationships and a focus on a positive school culture. On the Child and Leisure Program, the work team places great importance on the school's entire educational mission and has a well-developed and close collaboration regarding the students.

There are well-functioning routines for collaboration with the school's student health team. Mentors and teaching teachers participate and discuss various student matters and pedagogical issues together with all professions in the student health team.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is qualified to teach natural sciences at the upper secondary level, preferably in combination with another subject. You must hold a teaching license and have several years of experience in teaching and mentoring. Experience in teaching at the upper secondary level and on vocational programs is an extra merit. You possess good and deep subject knowledge and a broad pedagogical toolkit.

• Patient in learning with the students. It takes time to find the right way, and every time you think you have failed, you have only built a foundation for success.
