Temporary Lecturer/Adjunct in Exegetical Theology at Johannelund Theological Seminary

Johannelund Theological Seminary offers academic education at both basic and advanced levels in theology. In addition, Johannelund runs a pastoral institute and offers commissioned training programs. For the academic year 2026/2027, we are seeking one or two temporary staff members, totaling up to 150%, in the field of exegetical theology. We are looking for someone who wishes to join Johannelund's faculty as a lecturer or adjunct in exegesis and contribute to the seminary's collaborative work.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

• Teaching in exegetical theology at basic and advanced levels. The position primarily involves teaching in the New Testament, though Old Testament teaching may occur at the basic level.
• Teaching New Testament Greek.
• Supervising thesis work at basic and advanced levels.
• Teaching in pastoral profile courses and commissioned training programs.
• Some administrative work.
• Active participation in Johannelund's faculty work and devotional life.

Qualifications

Eligibility for the lecturer position requires:

• A completed doctoral degree in biblical studies/exegetical theology or a closely related field.
• Documented pedagogical competence in teaching at the higher education level.

Eligibility for the adjunct position requires:

• A master's degree in biblical studies/exegetical theology.
• Documented pedagogical experience.

Desirable Qualifications

We also wish that you have:

• Good ability to communicate at an academic level, both orally and in writing, in both Swedish and English.
• For teaching in pastoral profile courses: substantial experience of Christian congregational life.
• Good teamwork skills and openness to varied tasks.
