University Lecturer in Preschool Pedagogy (35%)
The Department of Education, Didactics and Educational Sociology (EDU) at Uppsala University is seeking an engaged University Lecturer. We conduct research, doctoral education, basic education, and commissioned training within the fields of pedagogy, didactics, and educational sociology. The department employs approximately 250 staff members, including 175 teachers/researchers, 45 doctoral students, and 30 administrators. Responsibilities
The position primarily involves teaching within the preschool teacher education program and commissioned training, with a focus on leadership in preschools, practice-based learning (VFU) courses, and systematic quality work. Teaching within the department's other areas of activity may also occur. Your responsibilities will also include course leadership, as well as information, curriculum development, investigation, and development work. You are expected to follow developments within your subject area and societal changes relevant to university work. Duties follow the local collective agreement.
Qualifications
To be eligible for appointment as a University Lecturer, you must hold a degree with subject specialization from a university college and have demonstrated pedagogical skill. Specific requirements for this position include:
- A completed degree as a preschool teacher.
- Documented experience working as a preschool teacher.
- Completion of relevant higher education pedagogical training.
- Documented ability to teach in Swedish.
- The personal qualities required to perform the duties of the position well.
Experience in teaching within preschools, the preschool teacher education program, and commissioned training is desirable. All merits must be documented to allow for assessment of quality and scope.
About the Position
Individual salary setting applies. The appointment is fixed-term until July 31, 2026, with a workload of 35%. Start date is May 1, 2026, or by agreement. Location: Uppsala.
