Welcome to us

As a Controller, you will become part of the Social Services Administration's finance unit, which is part of the joint staff. Here you make a difference every day by contributing to the optimal use of resources. The finance unit employs around 16 colleagues, including controllers, economists, and finance administrators. The workplace has excellent facilities and is centrally located in Jönköping at Juneporten, with easy access to both train and bus.

Your assignment as a Controller will be focused on the Functional Support division. Functional Support provides support, services, and care to children, adults, and the elderly with disabilities, enabling them to lead a good and independent life like everyone else. Your role involves supporting the functional manager and management team in planning, monitoring, and analyzing the finances within the function.

Your new job

You will work with the entire financial management process at a strategic level for Functional Support. This includes preparing materials for budgets, forecasts, investments, and long-term planning, as well as continuously monitoring finances and analyzing variances. As a Controller, you coordinate ongoing financial work, compile and present financial information, and serve as a qualified support in decision-making. An important part of your assignment is to develop and improve financial management, as well as to drive investigations related to the organization's needs.

Your immediate supervisor is the Head of the Finance Unit, but you will also work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, the Functional Manager, and the management team for Functional Support. You will also have close collaboration with colleagues within the finance unit, offering great opportunities to exchange experiences and knowledge in daily work.

Your competence

We are looking for someone with an academic degree in economics and a few years of experience as a Controller or in a similar role. We consider it an asset if you have also worked within a politically governed organization. You should be computer literate, confident with the Office package, and have excellent command of Swedish in both speech and writing.

To succeed in this role, you have strong analytical skills and are accustomed to solving complex issues in a solution-oriented manner. You are attentive and interested in how finances align with the organization's goals and results. You are meticulous and capable of driving your work forward independently. Furthermore, you find it easy to build trusting relationships, collaborate well with others, and convey complex information in a pedagogical way. We place great importance on personal qualities and abilities.

Good to know

This recruitment is for a permanent full-time position with a start date to be agreed upon. Working hours are during the day, Monday to Friday.
